SSS Life & Ministry

Hi and welcome to my heart & soul.

This blog is my contribution to addressing, and hopefully closing, the gap that I and so many others have fallen into. It’s the chasm between the LGBTQ+ community and the Faith community.

I want to make it very clear that the gap is between communities, not the people and the Gospel.

For the most part, I went through my struggle between my faith and my sexuality alone. It feels like I died many, many times. And yet, just like in a video game, I kept coming back to life at my last checkpoint: my faith & relationship with God.

After years, I eventually got it right (well, got it right enough to finally make it past that part). I wanted to goon my merry way into non-threatening, complacent existence. Instead, God’s plan for me to move forward meant going back. Going back to my family in Christ to strengthen them in the areas that left me isolated so that we can work toward making experiences like mine a thing of the past.

Yes, I want all people to be saved, but my main goal is to spread the truth about what God thinks about LGBTQ+ folks. (‘ll give you a hint: they have as much ‘in’ with God as anyone else. I also want to help ministries learn how to do the same.

The story many of us have believed is that if someone experiences same-sex attraction, they’re automatically disqualified. That is NOT TRUE. Christianity is not some club that you have to jump through hoops to join, you just have to choose to. I’ll die on that hill… actually Jesus already did that so we don’t have to.

Now, there’s still some hard stuff to swallow, but we’ll get to that. Right now, the first step is changing the message from “You can’t” to “Will you?”

I am a Life & Ministry Coach who works with established Christian ministries who are seeking to improve relationship with the LGBTQ community. I specialize in gathering and presenting quantitative research as well as providing my own experience to help ministry leaders understand the current landscape and social trends. Now, through sharing my experience and coaching others, I’m coming home to help ministries and individuals navigate the minefield of #cancelculture and the ever-changing landscapes to reach those who feel like they're fighting alone.
